Anita Long

Council of Advisors

Anita Long is an educator, storyteller, filmmaker, and social entrepreneur. Her professional life has been dedicated to combining these disciplines to serve the communities she has been a part of at present, Anita is using her skills to combine filmmaking and education in an effort to raise the next generation of filmmakers as responsible thoughtful storytellers.   

Her programs currently focus on the 4h through 12th grade and are part of curriculum development from the 4th grade extending through college-level courses for high schools including AP and IB programs. This is a continuation of over 3 decades of training youth in filmmaking geared toward socially responsible compassion-oriented content. Her credits include serving as Executive Director for a National Service-Learning initiative, which built the curriculum for teachers and encouraged youth across America to document the lives of veterans and those in service to their communities. 

She is the owner of Long Films Studio and Ink Spots Museum. She is the immediate past President of Women in Film and Television Houston. As a film director/producer she has been awarded medals from the Smithsonian Institutes Permanent Research Collection and has been Awarded for “visionary use of information technology to effect positive educational, political and economic change in society”. Her work is published in the Library of Congress and is part of the collections of more than 30 museums and libraries around the country. Recently Produced 6-year documentary entitled "THE OLDEST COUNTY FAIR IN TEXAS".  Washington County Brenham TX she interviewed over 400 people in the community. 

Anita is an editor for International Focus Magazine, a vehicle for the diplomatic community to bring a voice for a better understanding of each other’s cultures.  

 She is Presently Vice-President of the Federation of Houston Professional Women that combines over 35 women's organizations, to foster diverse relationships, provide scholarships and build collaboration for positive change. 

 Anita completed basic Compassionate Integrity Training she serves as a board member and the media relations for Compassionate Houston.
